Curb Cravings and Lose Fat Fast

Losing weight can be tough, especially if you crave certain foods. Does what you crave control what you eat?  It doesn’t have to anymore.  And in a few minutes you’ll know how to curb those cravings and lose fat fast.

First, let me ask you – which foods tempt you the most?  For me it’s pizza.  For you maybe it’s burgers or ice cream or potato chips.  Right now you’re probably visualizing a food that’s not healthy, aren’t you?  And you’re tempted to get up and get it, right?

Take a minute to think about that.

How you think is controlling you.

If you can change how you think you will change what you crave.  And it is really quite easy to change how you think and curb cravings.

Everyone with a weight loss problem thinks they have a craving problem.  Cravings are over rated.  You don’t need to be tempted by pizza, a 20-ounce prime rib, or chocolate cake.  You can be tempted by apples, oranges, pineapple and foods like that.  It’s not crazy.  It’s easy.

And once you know how to curb cravings you will lose fat fast.

Like most overweight people your problem probably is snacking, eating unhealthy food, picking, or just plain eating too much.  What if, instead of say chomping on a quarter pound cheeseburger and fries you would be just as happy savoring a piece of fruit or a vegetable?  Do you think you will lose fat fast if you curb cravings?

The media has conditioned us to crave burgers and fries and all sorts of things that are just not that good for us.  We’re about to change all that.

Imagine this.   Let’s say mangoes are your favorite fruit.  You’re at your friend’s place and they cut a mango up and give you a nice juicy piece.  The juice is dribbling down your chin and you love it.

Now let’s say they go to their fridge and take out a chocolate cake and say, “choose one”.

You’d probably go for the mango because you had a little teaser piece, which makes your mind crave more.  Bottom line is you enjoy your favorite fruits as much as you like your most desired junk food.  You just think you don’t.

When you change your thoughts you change what you crave.  When you curb cravings for junk food you won’t want it any more.  When you stop eating junk food you lose fat fast.

How to Curb Cravings

Here’s a five minute exercise that will change your thoughts:

  1. Find a quiet, comfortable place to relax where you won’t be distracted.  Breathe deeply until you’re quite relaxed.  Slowly count backwards from ten to one.  With each count imagine that your mind is drifting deeper and deeper into relaxation.
  2. When you’ve finished counting imagine that you’re by yourself and you are relaxing in your favorite place.  It can be a secluded beach or sitting on a log in the woods – whatever works for you.  See yourself as being so very relaxed and peaceful.
  3. Now imagine a basket full of your favorite fresh picked fruit right next to you.  See it clearly in your mind’s eye – the color, the smell, the way it feels – everything about it.  Now imagine taking a bite of that juicy fruit and enjoying it more than you ever did before.
  4. Repeat the following suggestion to yourself 10 times:  “From now on, anytime I think of eating, I immediately feel a craving for fruit”.
  5. Count slowly from one to five.  When you reach 5 open your eyes.

The more you do this exercise the better it works – and the sooner you curb cravings.

And why does it work?  When you’re in a relaxed state and imagine taking bites of your favorite ripe, juicy fruit and feel the juices tickling your taste buds you start to crave it.

Why?  Because when you close your eyes and take yourself to a calm and relaxed place your subconscious emerges.  And your subconscious is the part of your mind that controls what you crave.

Up until now the media rammed countless images and phrases into your subconscious while you watched TV, saw a movie, or read a magazine or newspaper.  Your subconscious got accustomed to it and accepted it.  You craved what the advertisers wanted you to crave.

Now you can change those images in your mind.  And when you change the images you will curb cravings for the junk they’re trying to sell and lose fat fast.
