Is The Fastest Weight Loss Diet The Best Weight Loss Diet?

A lot of internet sites promise fast, easy weight loss in a few short weeks.  Everybody wants the fastest weight loss, the easiest weight loss.  But people often wonder if the quickest way to lose weight is the best weight way to lose weight.   Are quickie diets good or bad?  Do they really work?

Unfortunately, the fastest weight loss usually results in only temporary weight loss.  With fad diets, 90% of the weight you lose is water and you’ll put that weight right back on when your body rehydrates.  And it must rehydrate or you can develop serious health problems and even die.

However, there are good nutrition plans that show you how to lose weight quick but in a sensible manner.

So how do you lose weight quickly and safely?  How do you separate the bad from the good?

The bad:

1.     Diets that promise the fastest weight loss, the easiest weight loss often have you eat unbalanced meals.  You’ll eat a lot of one food type and none of another.  It might suggest taking supplements.  Unfortunately a lot of these supplements aren’t absorbed by the body because they need to be taken with exactly the foods that are banned by the diet.  If you stick to the diet for a few weeks you could begin to develop nutritional deficiencies.

2.    The fastest weight loss diet is usually extremely restrictive and very boring. The first day or two might go well but soon you won’t enjoy your meals.  You’ll start to crave food all the time and break your diet.  Then you’ll probably feel guilty thinking it’s your fault that you didn’t lose weight.

3.    Many fad diets that say they’re the fastest weight loss diet recommend low carbs and high fat foods.  They don’t follow the American Heart Association’s recommendations.  Over the long term the fastest weight loss diets can result in heart disease.  The diet promoters might tell you to follow this diet for a short amount of time.  But what do you do if you don’t lose the weight you want?  Do you continue with the diet?   If you stop, odds are you’ll gain back what you lost.

4.    If the diet leaves out plentiful servings of fruits and vegetables – or limits the variety of foods that your body needs it is not the best weight loss diet.  It won’t work for the long term.

The fastest weight loss diets only offer temporary solutions.  They don’t help you make permanent changes in your eating habits.  Permanent changes are the only way to stay at your desired weight when you reach it.

Fad diets result in cycles of the fastest weight loss and the fastest weight gain.  This combination is terrible for your health and self esteem and worse than if you stayed overweight to begin with.

The good:

You want to lose weight and you wonder how.  Lose weight with the best weight loss diet – one that allows you to eat healthy, varied meals, does not encourage overeating, and recommends that you exercise regularly.  A sound diet shows you how to lose weight and keep it off.
