First, I want to wish you all a belated Happy New Year. Hope the holidays were great and that you had a lot of fun. And if you haven’t made your New Year’s Weight Loss resolutions yet – well, it’s still not too late.
Today let’s take a look at a free website that will help you reach your weight loss goals and get you the smoking body you want this year.
One of the scary things about being overweight is that it affects your health and right now over 30% of the people who live in the United States are overweight. A lot of them are obese. And about 400,000 obese people will die this year because of weight-related problems.
You can do things today so you won’t be one of them.
You can start by finding out your BMI – your body mass index.
Your BMI is a number that measures your weight and your height. If the number is more than 24.9 you are considered to be overweight. If it’s more than 30 you are considered to be obese.
If you weigh more than you should, you can make it a goal to lower your BMI by .2 points per week. That’s two tenths of a point. It’s a realistic goal that you can achieve by combining a low- to medium-calorie diet with about a half hour of exercise a day. I know you can do this if you try.
You can get your BMI index at http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ You don’t have to log on or anything – just put in your height and weight, click “Compute BMI” and you’ll see the number.
Use it as a motivational tool. Now enter a weight that’s one pound less and see how it lowers your BMI. Then keep on lowering it until you see how much you need to weigh to be at your normal weight.
That weight could be a very good goal.
